Matrix Treadmills Recalled Due to Fire Hazard

Health Canada has issued a warning to the public regarding a recall of a treadmill brand due to a fire hazard.

What should you do?

Customers should stop using the units and unplug them. Contact Johnson Health Tech North America for a technician to come to the home of the customer to install a power cord keeper on the treadmill.

This recall is a joint one with Johnson Health Tech North America, Health Canada, and the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission. The release of the US CPSC can be viewed on the Commission website.

It is important to note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits any recalled products being sold, redistributed or given away in Canada.

Health Canada reminds Canadians to fill out the Consumer Product Incident report form to report any safety or health incidents related to this product, or any other cosmetics.

The Matrix Treadmills Issue

It is possible to loosen the connection between the socket and power cord, which can pose a fire hazard.

The company had only one incident reported in Canada as of January 27, 2022. There have been no injuries. The company has received 58 incidents reports in the United States and no injuries reports.
